Let's be blunt: more than half of us are gambling with this.

More than half of UK adults don't have a will. Ask them why and you'll get the same three excuses every time: "I haven't got round to it," "I don't have enough to leave anyone," and the classic, "I'm not that old."

None of those hold up. You don't need a fortune to need a will. You need a bank account, a flat, or a child. Most people have at least one.

Here's the bit nobody says out loud: a will isn't really for you. You'll never read it.

It's for the people you leave behind, at the exact moment they're least equipped to deal with paperwork, courts, and each other. Dying without one doesn't make things simpler. It hands your family a legal lottery instead of a decision.

PerfectWill exists because "I'll do it eventually" is not an estate plan. So we made the eventually take five minutes.

Three steps. No jargon. No waiting room.

1

Answer a few questions

Who gets what, who looks after the children, who's in charge of sorting it all out. Plain English throughout. If a question needs a law degree to understand, we've already failed and rewritten it.

2

We build your will, instantly

As you answer, your will writes itself in the background. No forms to re-enter, no fifteen-page PDF to decode. Just watch it come together.

3

Download it, sign it, done

Get your will as a ready-to-sign document immediately. Print it, sign it in front of two witnesses (we'll tell you exactly how), and it's legally yours. Five minutes, start to finish.

Build my will now

Everything a straightforward will needs. Nothing it doesn't.

✓
Who gets what

Your assets, split exactly how you want, to the people (or causes) you choose.

✓
Guardians for your children

So it's your decision, not a court's.

✓
An executor

The person you trust to make sure it all happens properly.

✓
Backup plans

If your first choice can't act, or a beneficiary isn't around, your will already knows what to do next.

✓
Funeral wishes

As much or as little detail as you want to leave.

Got a complicated estate? A business, a trust, overseas property, or a blended family with a lot of moving parts? We'll point you to a solicitor who handles exactly that once you've done your will, so you have a starting point to discuss with them.

Here's the catch. There isn't one. But there is a next step.

We're not a charity. PerfectWill is free because most people don't need to pay a solicitor several hundred pounds to write a straightforward will, and we think it's a bit of a scandal that the industry ever convinced you otherwise.

What we do think is worth paying for: having a qualified solicitor check your finished will, especially if your life isn't simple. So once you've downloaded yours, we'll email it to you and offer to introduce you to one, if you want it. No pressure, no hidden charge for the will itself, ever. You can bin the email and never hear from us again. Your will is yours either way.

Built to be trusted with the most important document you own.

Written the right way round

Structured to meet the formal requirements for a valid will in England and Wales. Signed, witnessed, done properly.

Your will, not on file

We don't store the details of your will. No record of who gets what, what it's worth, or who you've left out. You download it, it's yours, we move on.

No small print traps

No auto-renewing subscription, no "free trial", no surprise invoice. Free means free.

The questions everyone asks, answered properly.

Is a will I write myself actually legal?

Yes, provided it's signed correctly and witnessed by two people who aren't beneficiaries. We walk you through exactly how to do that after you download, so you're not left guessing.

What if my situation isn't simple?

Then say so. A handful of situations (running a business, owning property abroad, blended families, complex trusts) genuinely benefit from a solicitor's eye. We'll flag it and offer to introduce you to one. Everyone else can download and go.

Is it really free, or free-then-a-fee?

Really free. Building and downloading your will costs nothing, now or later. We make money by introducing people to solicitors for extra services they choose to take up, not by holding your will to ransom.

Do you keep a copy of what's in my will?

No. We don't store the details, who inherits what, how much, any of it. Once you've downloaded it, that content is yours alone. We keep your contact details so we can send you your copy and get in touch if something genuinely useful comes up later, like help with probate, but never the content of the will itself.

Can I update it later?

Yes. Life changes. Come back and build a new one any time. Just remember to destroy the old copy once the new one's signed.

How long does it actually take?

About five minutes, if you already know who you want to leave things to. Longer if you want to have a cup of tea and think about it properly first. Either is fine.

You've read this far. That's longer than the will will take.

Five minutes now beats a mess later. Build yours and download it today, completely free.
